    Shocking News for Food Safety!

    Greetings!

    This week, a really scary business deal has been given the go-ahead.

    The mega-monopoly merger between German pharmaceutical company, Bayer and Monsanto was approved by the Department of Justice this month.

    Bayer will pay over $60 billion to acquire Monsanto.

    Meanwhile, hundreds of lawsuits against Monsanto for personal injury and wrongful death move forward.

    The merger, which was announced in September 2016, claims to “boost agriculture research and innovation”.

    That translates into yet MORE GMOs and greater struggles for small, independent farmers.

     

    Todd Enley, a fourth generation farmer, told Business Insider:

     

    “Our farm has been out here since 1935, and I’m 40 years old and I’ve watched a lot of small family farms in our area go under. They can’t compete because they can’t pay the price of input because of what these companies are wanting to charge for input now.” He iterated, “These corporate bigwigs, are they really going to do what they say?”

     

    Monsanto has two claims to chemical fame:

     

    • They developed Agent Orange – used on three million U.S. soldiers in Vietnam and on countless Vietnamese, inhumanely causing nervous system and genetic damage.
    • They developed Glyphosate – known as ‘the new Agent Orange’. This is the main chemical in ‘Roundup’. Glyphosate has been proven to cause cancer in rats. California has tried to put a cancer warning on glyphosate but has been temporarily barred by a federal judge.

     

    Bayer manufactured and sold the chemicals used to kill Jews in Nazi Germany.

    This is a DANGEROUS merger for our food!
