Happy Thursday!

Guess what??!

The next news letter that you receive from me will be written from Capri, Italy!!

Capri is a magical island off the coast of Naples. It’s known for it’s beautiful views, cerulean sea, great shopping and fabulous food!

My husband and I love to travel! Over our many journeys together, I have learned that I have to bring a little bit of home with me to stay on track with my personal health goals.

Truth be told, if I ate everything I WANTED to eat in Italy, I would come back looking like ‘Mama Nina’ :)

So here is what I am bringing with me to keep me on track.

I love Dr. Axe Collagen! It mixes easily into my coffee in the morning and gives me a little boost of protein (7 grams per scoop). Collagen is great for the skin, hair and nails, but most importantly, the gut. It heals and maintains the lining of your intestines.

Laird Superfood Creamer is a recent discovery of mine. I really don’t do that well with lots of milk in the diet…. Plus, I had a coffee with ‘cream’ on a plane recently and I thought ‘EEEEUUUUW’ as soon as I tasted it. Laird Superfood Creamer is coconut milk powder, calcium (from marine algae) and extra virgin coconut oil. It’s a nice replacement for cream in your coffee.

I carry a bottle of KAL Organic Stevia in my purse everyday to keep me off of sugar (bad) and artificial sweeteners (even worse than sugar). I know it may sound cooky but I will not buy a purse that does not have an inside pocket for my stevia!

Tosi SuperBites are delicious nut bars that have about 10 grams of protein, 4 grams of fiber and some essential omega-3s. They are made with almonds, sesame seeds, flaxseed and chia seeds; they are crunchy with a hint of sweetness. These keep me away from the ‘Continental Breakfast’ at the hotel… All those pastries could make a person the size of a continent….

These bars are my savior…..They are purse food. I never go anywhere without these. If I get stuck in an airport, if I’m starving doing errands, if I wake in the night and am HUNGRY, I have these bars. 14 grams of protein, 10 grams of fiber and 1 gram of sugar. These bars are tasty and nutritious!

I ENJOY summer vacation but not at the expense of health or my waistline! Stay tuned for more news from Cari, Italy!

Enjoy!

XO Nina
